10/13/24 Flight Istanbul->Tashkent From the hotel in Istanbul, it's a walk and then metro to the airport.
The
Uzbekistan Airlines counter is the second to last in the large hall. We are already standing in line with some people for the flight to Tashkent. My backpack is considered special luggage. I finish the muesli and drink all the water to avoid any issues at security. Everything is running smoothly today, but I still need two hours to get to Gate B10 from the airport entrance. The plane appears to be fully booked. I have a window seat: how nice! Unfortunately, there isn't much to see after takeoff as we fly straight into the clouds. Only after crossing the Caspian Sea can I see the Turkmen desert. The sun is low, illuminating the cliffs. At one point, they resemble the shape of the Italian boot. During the approach to Tashkent, the main roads shine white and red from car lights. Some high-rises are brightly lit as well. The capital of Uzbekistan has around two and a half million people.
