In addition to its headquarters in New York, the UN has its headquarters in Geneva.
The headquarters houses, among other things, the UN Human Rights Council and the High Commission for Human Rights. The UN site is an international site and contains 34 conference rooms and approximately 2,800 offices. This makes the UN a central employer for the Geneva region and helps the city achieve its high level of internationality and multiculturalism.
There is also one of the largest freely accessible libraries there. With more than a million books, it offers extensive volume and research options.
