Confused

Wow, we felt overwhelmed this morning after waking up sweaty in our too stuffy bungalow and in our cabin sleeping bags. We had headaches and Nina was generally a bit unwell. We gave way to our not particularly good mood and vegetated for a bit. Afterwards we listened to uplifting music and went in search of our scooter. Searched, found. After a short introduction, we set off. Since Ronja's thoroughly hand-washed laundry wasn't completely dried and therefore got musty in the backpack, our first stop was a laundromat. Our second stop was a seaside restaurant where we had our late breakfast. Since pizza was unfortunately out, we decided on bruschetta, which not only took a long time to prepare but was also very little and expensive. We have the Knobi flag of our lives.

“You can driiiiiii?” (our landlady, who actually means drive)

Koh Samui is surrounded by a large ring road that goes around the island. We just drove off - without a plan or destination - and were pretty disappointed after half an hour of driving because we mainly saw 7/11 shops and nothing else that fascinated us. The multi-lane roundabout in left-hand traffic, where we took the third exit, presented a challenge. Together we mastered the task brilliantly and came to a waterfall. It was very relaxed here and we sat on the rocks for some time.

Since we didn't want to go back yet, we decided to drive further north. With every kilometer we drove, the island appealed to us less and less. The traffic is very busy and hectic. You have to look a lot, brake and accelerate quickly. Unexpectedly, we ended up at Chaweng Beach (just on the other side of the island). We had read that this is supposed to be the most beautiful part of the island. Our expectations were probably wrong. The beach is really nice, you can't say anything against it, but somehow it didn't bother us. We decided on one of the beach restaurants and ordered a pizza to share. Phew, the pizza was the size of a saucer. We held an emergency meeting. What should happen next? What are we doing in the next few days? How do we deal with the situation?

There were several options. We decided against leaving the island and instead decided to use the time to relax. We want to read, let the last few days sink in, take pictures, listen to music and look forward to the full moon party on Thursday on Koh Phangan. We booked a ferry today that will take us there and bring us back that night (no matter what time). We also equipped ourselves with two cute tops.

After strolling around Chaweng, we had a drink in a bar. There was so much going on in the street that we had to look for a place to park our scooter (Daisy). In order to get back to the bungalow, the first step was to find Daisy again. Surprise: we found them.

Our way home was longer than expected, we drove for an hour in the dark (don't worry, we are aware of the danger and therefore always travel carefully and with a helmet!). Since we no longer had any motivation to go out to eat, we stopped at 7/11 and got snacks. We were really happy when we got back and ate outside because our bungalow had a room temperature of around 40°C. Ronja's selected toast with milk cream received a grade of 2/10, Nina's cornflakes with soy milk received a rating of 5/10.

We immediately make ourselves comfortable and hope for a restful sleep, which we really really miss.

Until tomorrow
