“Your face is all wrinkled.” - “How? Do I have sleep wrinkles?” - “Yes, you are a little pug”
When we woke up we felt better than yesterday. We were ready for a relaxing day. First we went for breakfast and went to a café that we had seen yesterday. Unfortunately there was only cake and we weren't hungry for it at the time. So we drove one more café further and ended up in a cute vegan yoga café. It was run with heart and the food was prepared fresh and delicious! A very good start to the day.
Afterwards we drove back and wanted to chill for a moment and think about what we wanted to do for the rest of the day. We were surprised by a heavy rain shower. For the first time we really experienced the pouring rain on our bodies, went outside, danced, took photos. We laughed so hard and enjoyed this pleasant cooling that was so unexpected. It was such a nice feeling on the skin in the warm air. We were soaking wet. After we had enough of that, we dried ourselves off and went to bed, looked at photos and videos, and enjoyed the cooled air from outside. We just really enjoy taking photos, capturing moments forever and being able to remember certain situations better.
A little later we set off again to a restaurant, it was supposed to be somewhere on the west coast. Maybe we wanted to see another sunset. On the way we refueled for the first time at a gas station in Thailand, or rather this task was taken on for us. We continued with the tank full. After we turned once, another scooter overtook us with 3 people sitting on it (father, mother, toddler). A few meters in front of us, another driver pulled out of the side street without once looking left or right. It rattled. Right before our eyes. We stopped. Everyone lay on the floor for a moment before a scenario unfolded before our eyes that simply shocked us. The father attacked the other scooter driver, who ran away, the father followed and gave him his fist. The mother with the screaming child in her arms was just screaming herself. We didn't understand any of the words, we made sure that everyone involved was okay and when we realized that we were completely unnecessary, we drove on. Because there were other Thais who were communicating with each other. We had to digest the shock first. Of course, everyone was without helmets in the situation. The situation gave us a little more respect and showed us that you really have to be prepared for other people's mistakes at any time!
After recovering from the shock with water and a Coke in a café, we headed to the nearest restaurant and ordered vegetables with rice. Then it started to pour again... we still had a relatively long way to drive home. When it got a little weaker at some point, we tried our luck and drove slowly and carefully, meter by meter. In the meantime we were swimming, not like you think. Daisy swam. Luckily we had our water wings with us and the three of us made it across the lakes onto the streets. It's been a long time since we felt what it felt like to be cold, because the rain and the wind made it really cold. Despite everything, we arrived home safe and sound.
What an exciting day. We've just stocked up on snacks and are now ready for our girls' night out with a movie in bed. It's cozy weather.
Until tomorrow
