A Coruña

Argitaratu: 14.10.2023

Welcome back!

After I arrived back in Spain and slowly had to get used to the fact that my English isn't quite as good anymore, I took a look at the city of A Coruña.

To start, I chose the sculpture park around the Tower of Hercules.

A truly fantastic place - green, by the sea, art as far as the eye can see. As soon as a city tour begins in the green, I automatically rate it as a nicer experience. I noticed this while walking in this park. Do you feel the same?

The weather was perfect at 28 degrees and I really enjoyed it. Especially since I knew that the weather would soon get worse again.

And in the middle of this wonderful park stands this still active lighthouse. According to legend, the tower was created from a rock on which Hercules fought with the giant Geyron for three days and three nights. Hercules won the fight and out of gratitude the lighthouse was built from the rock. For this reason, many other stories and legends about this son of the gods can be found in the city.

I enjoyed the walk through the park so much and was very happy about every new statue and sculpture that I was able to discover in the vastness.

After the walk through the park we slowly continued towards the city center. In general, I notice that the high season is over and I'm enjoying the classic tourist destinations in a little more peace and quiet.

Ice cream - vanilla and mango-passion fruit

Nom, Nom, Nom. Especially the mango-passion fruit ice cream tasted like part of summer in my childhood - it tasted like the orange solero ice cream and just delicious.

Praza de Maria Pita
Concello da Coruña - Town Hall

I found the Plaza de Comico in the middle of the city center and moved from a well-known figure to an unknown one with an ice cream. I think it's particularly nice that the names of the characters are written underneath in Spanish. Which is logical, of course, but it just made this moment even funnier because I was comparing them to the Germans.

On the other side of the city we went back to the car and then went to the nearest Starbucks to blog.

I looked so sporty on the board in the photos in Portugal, right? :D

After A Coruna we continue along the coast to Bilbao. Based on the weather forecast, I booked a hotel here for 3 nights as the weather was expected to change quite a bit.

Until then, there are still a few stops and therefore a few more articles to be written.

Everyone feels very warm.
