Here we go! Düsseldorf - Kiel (07.07.2018)

5 o'clock... here we go! I'm embarking on a challenging journey. Today, I want to drive to Kiel and stay overnight at the youth hostel.

After two hours of driving, with 290km left to Kiel, I took my first break to catch my breath and stretch my legs. At 8 o'clock, I continued towards Bremen/Hamburg. I was confident that I wouldn't encounter any traffic jams. However, just as I entered Hamburg, the traffic came to a standstill. As quickly as the traffic appeared, it disappeared again, and I could "relax" through the other construction sites in Hamburg. My first drive through the Elbe Tunnel went smoothly, although I remembered the tunnel being smaller. But maybe that's because I was smaller last time.

After several more construction sites, I finally arrived in Kiel and settled into my room. Since it was still noon, I wanted to explore the beautiful city a bit.

Naturally, I got lost and ended up an hour away from the city center instead of being in it... how stupid...

So I decided to take the bus to actually get to the city center. This time, it worked. I just took a quick look around, but Kiel is a really beautiful city.

On the way back to the youth hostel, I found out that the youth hostel and the city center are connected by a 10-minute walk...
