Taitung and Taiwan's East Coast

I have now reached Taitung on the East Coast of Taiwan. I was a little disappointed by the small city at first sight. However, luckily I was able to borrow a bike from my hostel and explore the city more closely, and I was proven wrong. Taitung has a few beautiful green spaces to offer, such as Forest Park and Seaside Park. In the evening, I visited Tiehua Music Village, where I listened to Taiwanese singer-songwriters' music under handmade lanterns by elementary school children. It was a unique experience for me.

The next morning, I headed early towards Sanxiantang, a sight recommended by a local triathlete. It is a small island connected to the mainland by a nine-arch bridge. Despite the typhoon warning, I had amazing weather and got to witness some breathtaking waves. On the way back, I also visited the 'Upward Flowing Water,' which is not as impressive as it sounds...
