Day 20 * from the mouth of the Río Segre into Priorat

Morning: La Granja d'Escarp (Province of Lleida - Catalunya) * Evening: Falset (Priorat - Catalunya)

We sleep in and have a relaxed breakfast at the parking lot with the beautiful view in La Granja d'Escarp. 

We continue our journey along the Rio Segre and then take a tiny road that leads to the mouth of the Rio Ebro near the town of Mequinenza. From the car, we see countless water birds. The area seems to be a true angler's paradise. There are several fishing camps along the way.

By the way, this is the border between Aragon and Catalunya. The small road gets narrower and winds up a mountain. And then it doesn't go any further... so we turn around and drive back along the beautiful, lonely river delta. We pass La Granja d'Escarp again and have our lunch break at the Ebro river in Flix. But the place is not very idyllic.

It is very hot and we are tired and exhausted, so we don't drive very far anymore. We go to Móra d'Ebre and then to Falset, the main town of the Priorat region. (Comarques are Catalan administrative areas, similar to German 'Landkreise')

In Falset, there is a parking lot next to the beautiful building of the wine cooperative. Here we park our camper and take it easy: we cook, eat, and rest.

In the evening, we want to enjoy the lively Catalan life in a bar in the town. But to our surprise, the beautiful place is deserted. So we stroll through the lonely alleys: well-preserved buildings, a church, small squares, and a castle. And a great view of the Priorat!
