29.10.2019 Start Ciudad Perdida

We have decided to take on the 5-day hike through the Colombian jungle to the lost city. We were picked up around noon. Our large luggage remained at the hostel. We had to endure a two-hour drive in an off-road vehicle, which was very bumpy. Once we arrived at the starting point of the hike, we had lunch. Then we started walking. The weather was hot, humid, but without rain. This changed suddenly after about half an hour. It was pouring rain. We were completely soaked. The hiking trails turned into smaller rivers and became very muddy. I had to forget about my white shoes. We slid down the muddy slopes, and some of us even had falls. However, the rain was pleasantly warm and didn't cool us down. We finally reached the camp after dark. There, we had dinner and beer.
