The night was not very restful. At some point, it suddenly became bright as day, as if lightning had struck directly. So this is what the small rainy season sounds like! It rained through the rest of the night. It finally stopped at 6 o'clock. We got up and were promptly at breakfast at 6:30. Only the black man wasn't :). The journey took us back by boat across Lake Victoria. There, Sam, our guide for the trip, and Toyo, our car, greeted us. The drive through Kampala was definitely the craziest thing we both have ever experienced! No road lanes, bicycles, motorcycles with two or more people, bush taxis and cars were pushing in from every direction at the intersection. Whoever brakes here has really lost. We grazed the jackets of the motorcyclists and they still tried to overtake - with the woman on the back seat holding a chicken cage. We would never have survived here alone. Past street markets where the vegetables were presented on a blanket - it had rained, the red earth was wet and dirty. People huddled in their too small accommodations, children played in the dirt. Images for Christmas donation appeals on TV. Our path led us to the Rhino Resort. We hiked through the savannah with a guide and rubber boots. Felt like 30 degrees and 70% humidity. In the rubber boots, 100%. The paths were full of water and mud. A group of 6 animals made up for the hardships. At the end of the day, another adventurous drive on clay roads. Suddenly in the middle of nowhere a tree with black people on it and underneath. Nothing far and wide. 'Here you have the best network connection for making phone calls.' Yeah, right...
