Today we started the day relaxed and first bought a Metrocard each so we could finally use the subway in New York. It's fun 😝
First we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge in the best weather (it was a bit too good for my skin 😅) and took a look at the district near the shore. You have a very nice view of the skyscrapers and you dive back into another New York, which is also very worth seeing. Of course, a trip to Starbucks shouldn't be missed either.
Unfortunately, we got a little lost and didn't make it to the baseball game, which we really wanted to watch. On top of that, we took the subway the wrong way, so we ended up deeper in Brooklyn/Queens... 😅🙈
Then we quickly returned to Manhattan and spontaneously got off at One World Trade Center to see the city from above again (if spontaneously possible).
This thing is probably better secured than an airport. I was fished out at the checkpoint because I still had my wallet in my pocket when the scanner arrived 🙈
The elevator is animated all around from the inside and goes from the 1st to the 102nd floor in just under 50 seconds (self-stopped)😅 Once at the top, we were supposed to watch a film, everything was darkened and we didn't know where we were. At the end of the film, the interestingly designed screens suddenly went up…………. and we stood at the edge of the viewing platform overlooking the city. They did a really cool job 😍 I have to admit: Americans know a thing or two about turning a “simple tour” into a show. When we rushed back down in the elevator, we still had a lot of pressure on our ears for a while. 😄
Afterwards we went again to the heart of the financial world: the New York Stock Exchange. It's always interesting to observe how important the financial center is for the world, but hardly any tourists are there to take a look. People just like to take pictures with “the funny, big bull” in front of it 😁
Good night 😴
