Ruhige Metropole

Avaldatud: 31.10.2018

Our second-to-last day in Seattle was spent leisurely, as we had explored more than expected the previous day.

We started in Chinatown. It didn't really have an authentic Asian feel, but it was a nice area with lots of street art.

On our way to the harbor, we came across an unusual place. In the middle of the city is a small park with a waterfall, the Waterfall Garden. It was picturesque with the trees in autumn colors. And apparently, it's also the birthplace of UPS.

A few streets away, we found ourselves in a beautiful square. Brick houses with ivy growing on them all around. The Occidental Park. A real retreat with lots of seating areas, ping pong tables, hula hoops, and much more.

Our march continued to Pier 55. On the way, we also saw the Smith Tower, which stands out because of its unusual mushroom shape.

This time, we were able to walk on the pier. No police, no bomb disposal squad, nothing blocked off. However, we could have skipped it. One souvenir shop after another. There is also an overpriced Ferris wheel. But the view of the ocean and the skyline was fantastic.
