After Salento, we flew back to the capital, Bogota. Here we wanted to spend the last few days with Jonas' dad.
We arrived late in the evening, half starved, at our accommodation. Jonas specifically chose a good location with many bars and restaurants. Since it is always recommended for safety reasons not to leave the accommodation after dark, I was quite skeptical about going out again. But hunger drove us out. However, it was also a public holiday here and we wandered through deserted streets in the pitch dark, searching for something to eat. I have to admit, I was really scared. Thankfully, we eventually found some fast food places that had surprisingly delicious food!
The next day, we wanted to explore the city a bit. The only thing we initially found were empty streets and closed shops. The Colombians seem to take holidays very seriously, as Easter was approaching. Only a few Good Friday processions passed by. In the afternoon, we wanted to meet up with Jürgen. Jonas traveled through South America with Jürgen for a few weeks and I was really excited to finally meet him in person after hearing all of Jonas' stories. Jürgen had chosen a French-Colombian restaurant, and I believe that I had the best and most beautifully decorated food of my life here. Incredibly delicious!
We then spent the next two days together. We explored the city, Jürgen took us on a little graffiti tour, and we went out to eat more than once (as you can easily see in the pictures=)
Due to the bad weather, we couldn't do much and ended up spending time in a few pubs.
Then it was time to say goodbye...
I think it was particularly difficult for Jonas and Jürgen to say goodbye to each other, as they have experienced a lot together and traveled together for a long time. I'm glad that Jürgen took on my role while I was at home and was by Jonas' side, not only emotionally but also culinary=) Thank you for the wonderful days with you, and we are confident that we will see each other again in Germany someday!!!
Two days later, we also had to say goodbye to Josef... this farewell was also difficult for us, as the last four weeks were very intense and we experienced so much together, and we quickly got used to traveling as a trio!! Thank you for accompanying us on our world trip, thank you for your support that we can always rely on, and especially thank you for your kind words and for always encouraging us to keep going. Or in your words: It was really, really, really good!!! =)
