After this night the sound in the motorhome was far from promising - it was clearly raining audibly - but we were still in good spirits and hoped for many whale sightings. Shortly after our check-in, the unpleasant news came that the captain is a 'softie' and does not want to go out in the expected swell ;)
We were offered two alternatives: Postponement to tomorrow or a second attempt at 2:00 p.m. Since we coincidentally had nothing else important to do, we decided on the afternoon option. Since everyone was there once and everything was prepared accordingly, the museum tour started right in the morning. A totally enthusiastic Italian turned the tour into a very entertaining affair. The next two hours we used to get to know Andenes a little better. Everyone in their own way: Paul and Juliane with shopping, El on a bench in the sun, and me with getting bread rolls and muffins. Now Paul has new socks and Juliane finally has warm gloves.
Shortly before two o'clock it was announced that the tour would take place but it would be demanding. Everyone agreed that we would still go for it. At check-in, tablets were immediately added. As soon as the tablets were swallowed, El wanted to go to the bathroom again and the corresponding comment was: 'Shit out the tablets right away!' - Siblings are really nice, aren't they?
Then it started. Until the exit from the harbor it was still comfortable, but then the waves didn't take long to appear. After about an hour of strong ups and downs, a sperm whale was spotted. We observed it surfacing twice and then headed back. For my part, I was glad that I had swallowed the tablet, otherwise I probably wouldn't have seen any whales but, like other passengers, only produced fish food. All in all, the trip was very well organized - there was also tea and food - and with the entertaining conversation of our guide, we always felt well informed.
And not to forget the quote of the day: I said that Juliane sat there like a troll on a rock - knee pulled to her body and chin resting on it (usual posture when she's too cold) and she asks back: 'How do you know what a troll looks like when he's sitting on the toilet?' - hilarious :)
