Create a gift voucher with your own photo – in three steps
Design
Choose the amount or membership, upload your own photo, and select from 13 font styles. You write the title, message, and sender yourself – the preview shows the voucher exactly as it will appear.
Select delivery
You can receive the voucher by email at a date and time of your choice, as a PDF for you to print, or as a printed postcard to the recipient's address. You will also receive the voucher and invoice by email in any case.
Redeem
The recipient enters the code when ordering a photo book or postcard – or activates their Year Explorer at vakantio.de/gutschein/einloesen. The remaining balance stays on the code for the next order.

For those who prefer to receive a real postcard: We print your voucher as a classic postcard in 15 x 10 cm format – your photo and title on the front, your message, voucher code, and address on the back – and send it directly to the recipient. This costs an extra €4.90, postage included.
For Christmas: The card goes to print after payment and usually takes four to eight days to arrive. It's best to order it by mid-December. The voucher will arrive by email on the chosen date – even on Christmas Eve.

Can I create a voucher with my own photo?
Yes. You upload your own photo when designing the voucher – for example, a picture from your trip together. It appears prominently on the voucher, along with your title, your message, and the voucher code.
Can I print the voucher?
Yes. Every Vakantio voucher comes as a print-ready PDF in landscape DIN A5 format – with photo, message, code, and QR code for redemption. Select "PDF for me" if you would like to present it yourself.
Can I send the voucher as a postcard by post?
Yes. For an extra €4.90, we'll print the voucher as a classic postcard and send it to the recipient's address, postage included. The card usually takes four to eight days to arrive.
What can the Vakantio voucher be used for?
A gift voucher is valid for photo books and postcards on vakantio.de. The recipient creates them from their own travel blog, which is free – the photo book is designed automatically. An Explorer or Adventurer voucher unlocks a one-year membership.
How long is the voucher valid for?
Three years until the end of the year: A voucher from 2026 is valid until December 31, 2029. The date is printed on each voucher.
What happens to the remaining amount?
The code remains valid. If the photo book costs less than the voucher, the recipient can use the remaining balance later for another book or postcards. If it costs more, they only pay the difference.
Can I specify when the voucher will arrive?
Yes, when you choose delivery by email, you select the date and time – up to a year in advance. This way, the voucher arrives on time for Christmas Eve, your birthday, or your departure day.
Can I give a year of Vakantio Premium as a gift?
Yes. The Explorer plan is available as a gift for €99.00, the Adventurer plan for €199.00 – each for 12 months and without a subscription. The recipient redeems the code at vakantio.de/gutschein/einloesen, after which the membership ends automatically.
Is the voucher also valid in Switzerland?
Yes. In Switzerland, you pay in Swiss francs, and the voucher can be redeemed in both countries: Vakantio prices are the same in euros and Swiss francs, so a €50 voucher also covers a photo book for CHF 50. The voucher postcard is sent to addresses in Switzerland, Austria, and many other countries.
