So much garbage!!!!!!

We are horrified by the amount of garbage littering here in Sicily. Whole bags of household waste are simply thrown out of car windows. The nature, streets, and beaches are extremely polluted.

Mountains of plastic bottles, beverage cans, glass bottles, and endless amounts of plastic waste.

What is going wrong here?

Most of the West Coast beaches are prohibited from swimming, the algae are knee-high on the beach and it smells terrible.

We are horrified, there are garbage bins everywhere in the cities, we have to dispose of our waste as well.

But mattresses, refrigerators, and washing machines are also simply thrown into the landscape.
