We then drove to the Monte Argentario peninsula the next day, but it is not very camper friendly as it was raining.
You have to go around Porto Ercole, only to find out that 2 km further, below Fort Rocca, the road on the island is closed anyway.
So, drive into Porto Ercole from the other side? ...also closed for campers. We then parked next to the road in the rain and watched the waves from above.
We managed to take a short walk to Porto Ercole in drizzling rain.
We then walked up to Forte Rocca in the rain, but it is privately owned and cannot be visited.
The next day, we drove to the town of Monte Argentario, and the weather was a bit better.
