The salt pans of Trapani

After visiting the city of Trapani, we drive to the nearby salt pans.

 Since the Middle Ages, the "white gold" has been extracted here. The salt lakes stretch for many kilometers. 

Every now and then we even see a few flamingos. There is a salt museum that we want to visit. However, on this particular day, film recordings are taking place here and the museum is closed.
