ALCATRAZ: The infamous prison for inmates

On Wednesday we visited the prison 'Alcatraz'.

That was maybe interesting and exciting. We were able to visit the entire prison, sit in individual cells, and learn all kinds of details.

The prison was not a normal correctional facility. Only inmates from other prisons who did not behave properly were sent here. (So to speak, a 'prison for prisoners')

We learned about the different stories of the 36 escape attempts that were made and were able to gain many insights into prison life back then.

Even a former inmate was there! (I took a photo with him - and we got a dedication in his book).

So that was really incredibly exciting!
