Arnd sets an alarm clock to quickly receive a possible spontaneous call from the embassy, but after waiting for 1 1/2 hours, the deadline has expired and unfortunately, we won't be able to come home today. We spend the morning and afternoon like any other day until we receive an email from Air New Zealand in the evening, who, like Lufthansa, is also conducting repatriation flights for German citizens: We have received a standby ticket for Sunday, April 12, departing at 3:30 PM. This is not a confirmed ticket or a definite assurance that we can fly on that day, but we are happy that we finally received a notification and book an airport shuttle for Sunday with optimism. The excitement is high!
