There is no road connection between North and South America, Panama, and Colombia. The Interamericana ends somewhere in eastern Panama in Yaviza and starts again in Turbo, Colombia. Of course, you can go through the Darien jungle, which I wanted to do for years, because there are enough indigenous peoples living there, but also snakes, mosquitoes, drug dealers, and human smugglers. Anything is possible, so I flew with a small 12-person plane to Puerto Obaldia (highlight!!!!!!) and then continued by boat to the Colombian side to Capurgana!! I love crossing borders in a different way :)
