We took the bus from Lima and headed south for about 3.5 hours to a small town on the Pacific coast called Paracas. We spent our Easter weekend there. We took a boat trip to the Ballestas Islands, where thousands of Humboldt penguins and sea lions can be found 😍🐧 they were not impressed at all by the many boats and the many people with their cameras. It was the first time I could observe penguins in the wild - and now they fascinate me even more than before. 😊 After our little exploration tour, we went to the Paracas National Park, where we could admire a tropical desert, where you can even freeze because of the cold Pacific air (the sea is right next to the desert) 😯. We also saw a red beach, which owes its appearance to volcanic rock. Nature performs so many miracles! And meeting them is infinitely fun and joyful.
