From Albany to Augusta

Continuing westward, we went through Albany, Denmark and Pemberton to Augusta. The towns are unspectacular, but the nature is beautiful: rugged coastlines, waterfalls, and the special highlight of Karri trees.

Karri trees are ancient giants, reaching heights of up to 80 meters. It is impressive to look up in the Karri forest. And like the Australians, the Karri trees are presented vividly and adventurously for visitors. So there are almost banal natural trails with many signs, artworks hanging in the forest, a kind of spiral staircase attached to a trunk (we were too scared to climb up) or a "skywalk". On this walk, you walk on suspension bridges at about 50 m height between the treetops. The bridges were also swinging a lot. It was a real experience.

The weather had become worse again, we had no electricity at the campsite. In some parts of Western Australia and all of South Australia, the power was out.
