New Mobility

We had been thinking for a while that we wanted to be more mobile, as the nearest shopping opportunities are quite a distance away and we didn't want to rely on Stephan or pay for the ojeks all the time. So we talked to Stephan about the possibility of buying a motorcycle somewhere. He said that there were good used ones available at a reasonable price here and that there are some people in the park who have contacts with motorcycle dealers. That's how the plan was born to get ourselves a used motorcycle. A few days later, we talked about the topic again and Stephan told Seger, our local colleague, about the idea and as luck would have it, his father is a motorcycle dealer! Seger asked what kind of machine we wanted, so we looked at a few models in a parking lot nearby and quickly agreed on one. The Honda SupraX! It is sturdy and has enough power for steep inclines. So, no later than an hour later, Seger told us that his father owns such a motorcycle and is already on his way to us. So, after work, we drove to the next village with Stephan to take a look at the machine. After two test drives and coffee, the decision was made, we paid the money (of course with a small foreigner surcharge) and the Supra was ours. Within a day, we had our new motorcycle, 8 years old, a bit dented but still ours.

Stephan then quickly clarified with our boss that we are allowed to drive in the park, so the next day we were already mobile and could make the first small errands.

After a few days, we bought a few new helmets, they were quite cheap but probably not according to EU standards. So now we can go anywhere as long as there is fuel and Indonesian traffic.
