We visit the Huka Falls near our campground. These are the 'outlet' of Lake Taupo and 200,000 liters of water flow through them per second. It has a beautiful turquoise color and a deafening roar. After we have seen enough, we drive along Lake Taupo and stop at various lookouts. Then we go to the next campground early in the middle of the mountains in a forest by a river. We prepare our luggage for the Tongariro Crossing the next day and go to bed early.
