Cliff Hike

Today, we had planned a longer hiking route. We wanted to circle the peninsula of Peniche, just as we had done a few years ago.

In the process, we passed by the remnants of the 'Forte de nossa Senhora da Luz' once again. This time, we skipped the viewpoints at 'Limbo do Leste'. When we arrived at the water tower, we recalled that the last time we had not actually circled the island. According to the map, we had called it quits after not even a third of the way because we realized how long the hike would be. Today would be different. Sebb insisted on at least going to the 'Farol Cabo Carvoeiro', which was about three-quarters of the way through the route. When we finally reached it after 3.5 hours, we agreed that we preferred to walk the last part of the route back on the road rather than climb over the rocky paths of the fishermen around the island.

At exactly 5:00 PM, we coincidentally passed by the castle ditch around the city and witnessed how the Sunday fishing competition was concluded by the referee.

After 5 hours of hiking, we finally returned to Gary. It was high time to put our feet up and take a break.

For dinner, we had already reserved a table at the all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant yesterday. Since we had walked quite a bit today, we had no reservations about indulging ourselves. The restaurant was quite unusual. Instead of a menu, there was only a small stand on the table with a 2D code, which provided access to the digital menu. In the app, you could order like in an online shop; see the orders already placed along with their delivery status, and of course, keep an eye on the price of the evening. In some cases, the delivery was handled by a service robot, a fun change from the traditional staff. When we left at 9:30 PM, we were stuffed, happy, and had quite the bargain for a sushi evening.
