For the weekend, we had reserved a real campsite near La Rochelle. Laundry had to be done, and showering and washing hair were also on the agenda.
So we casually cruised from one roundabout to the next at 80 km/h along the country road.
Sebb was feeling a bit better again, yet we made a stop at a local 'pharmacy' and bought cough syrup. It felt as if we were mystery shoppers.
As we headed toward the reserved spot in the afternoon, we noticed how many cars, especially campers, were coming towards us. Perhaps the high season was already tapering off?
The campsite was a very good choice. The facilities were top-notch, the staff was very friendly, and once they realized that we were not native speakers, they automatically switched to English. (How are you supposed to improve your French that way?)
We first took care of the essentials: laundry and then shower. While our clothes dried on the line, which happened pretty quickly in just under 40 degrees, we focused on dinner and treated ourselves to something from the current food truck.
