We planned to start on Sunday, July 5th.
It was a windy day with mixed weather, the sky was mostly overcast and occasionally there were even a few drops of rain. Perfect travel weather.
We made use of our time and slept in properly. At 10:30 AM we slowly got out of bed for coffee and breakfast.
After that, we packed the last things and at 1:00 PM we set off on our journey with an unknown route and unknown return date.
With a stop halfway, we arrived in a little over 6 hours in Ellerau just outside Hamburg. Ines had found a promising place to stay overnight at the outdoor pool of the small community, where we also arrived at 7:00 PM.
On the first evening, dinner was already firmly planned. There was supposed to be penne with tomato sauce, of course with cheese and a bottle of red wine. We had received this bottle as a gift at the farewell party and had to promise to open it on the first evening on the road.
