From the south of the North Island, we slowly made our way back to Auckland via Napier and Taupo. On our way to Auckland, we also stopped by Hamilton. Unfortunately, we missed one of the world's largest hot air balloon festivals as we didn't know it was taking place in Hamilton at that time.
In Hamilton, we visited the Hamilton Gardens, which is like a museum for gardens. (Grandma would have loved it)
There were different types of gardens there, from Indian to English, and a free Maori show (Fun fact: In Maori, the letters are pronounced just like in German).
