#Brazil 2018 Day 12

11/05/2018 Buzios to Recreiro dos Bandeirantes

Today we leave Buzios and drive south of Rio to Recreiro dos Bandeirantes.

The drive is always exciting. They all drive like maniacs here.

The road conditions are horrible, potholes are the least of the problems, sometimes half of the road is missing all of sudden.

But the most beautiful thing is still the cyclists on the highway. This one is actually going in the right direction, usually they come towards us.

Pedestrians also like to cross the highway, sometimes they crawl under the center divider, 😕you really have to be careful.

Selling points are also normal on the highway.

Cars constantly cut you off, overtake on the right, left, and on the shoulder 🤦

We usually don't understand the signs.

But no matter, we pay half the toll fee for the outward journey as for the return journey... you really don't know why.

At least one thing is clear, without GPS you would wander around all day, as the signage is terrible.

We arrive at our hotel in Recreiro dos Bandeirantes (it took us 4.5 hours for 200 km) and have a room with a great view over the long beach.

Unfortunately without ☀️ sunshine.

But we won't let it ruin our fun and walk along the beach

The weather is unfortunately not going to be very good in the next few days, too bad 😕
