The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is one of the largest mosques in the world. Its minaret, at 210 meters, is currently the tallest minaret and the tallest religious structure in the world. It was built to commemorate the 60th birthday of the then Moroccan King Hassan II and was completed in 1993.
