Welcome to Australia

Our first week in Australia was spent in Sydney. There, we rented our campervan for the next six weeks, opened a bank account, and planned our route along the east coast. Once all of that was done, we could focus on the beautiful things and took a walk through Hyde Park and the Botanic Garden to the Opera House. It was impressive to stand in front of something that we only knew from pictures. We also took advantage of the days to visit Manly and swim and snorkel at Shelly Beach, stroll through Chinatown's shopping centers, and drive to the Blue Mountains for some hiking. The last two days in Sydney were spent with a friend of mine from Germany, which made it feel like we weren't on the other side of the world.
