This morning, our first stop was the market hall in Concarneau. Since the bakery was closed, we went to the next market in Nezes to buy our breakfast. We started off with ham, salted butter, salami, baguette, and coffee. We then headed towards the sea and found a beautiful quiet parking spot in a bay. We unpacked our camping stove and espresso maker and found a bench. Our next stop, Pont-Aven, was a brief stroll by the river because we wanted to make it to the market in Vannes on time. Once we arrived in Vannes, our usual luck with parking followed us. Since the start of our vacation, we have always found central parking spots that are free, no matter when or where. ('I wish, I wish, for a parking spot at the door').
In Vannes, we went straight to the market and Les Halles, where they had live shrimp, andouille sausage, and velvet crabs. After that, we wanted to have a drink by the harbor, but due to the lack of service and the lack of nice hotels in the city, we decided to head towards the salt marshes. Next stop: Guérande.
After a tour THROUGH the salt marshes, we took another tour THROUGH the pedestrian zone. When we arrived at our quaint and beautiful yet also interesting hotel, we set off to explore the old town. Surprisingly few bars and cafes, but surprisingly lots of rain. But we wouldn't be ourselves if we didn't still have a great time. We had dinner at the hotel's own creperie. For starters, we had galettes with salmon and onions, and for the main course, we had galettes with flambéed black pudding with calvados and apples, galettes with egg, ham, and cheese. For dessert, we had crepes with honey and pistachio ice cream, and crepes with chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It paired perfectly with cider and muscadet wine.
