After almost 2 months here in Texas, I finally managed to write my first entry
I'm not sure where to start
Texas is beautiful! I love it here. Most buildings are in sand color, which made orientation impossible for me in the first few weeks.
And everything is bigger: roads, supermarkets, packaging... and friendliness is highly valued.
Otherwise, many things look like you would imagine or see in movies, but when you actually live here, it's not that spectacular.
Last week was Homecoming and I got to experience the school spirit myself, and all I can say is wow.
You wouldn't find such solidarity and motivation to cheer on school teams anywhere else.
At the end of the day, high school is just school. But it's relaxed, somehow easier, and I didn't have any major requirements for my class choices, so I ended up taking subjects like Fashion Design and Child Development instead of Math and Biology.
One thing I have definitely learned since I've been here is to always push myself further, and even when I think I've reached the end, to keep going to achieve my goal.
We'll see if it takes me as long for the next entry.
Yours, Svea
