First days on the farm of Hanli and Vincent.

We were initially on the farm of Billy's cousin, Hanli and Vincent, in Memel, 2.5 hours by car south of Johannesburg for a few days. Afterwards, we set off towards Sodwana Bay with Hanli and Vincent's trailer, enjoying a wonderful stop at a campsite with hot and healthy spring water in the pool. Very nice friends of Hanli and Vincent welcomed us and took us to accommodation in the bush. Surrounded by a subtropical climate, lemons, mangoes, monkey apples...... are growing around us! Early in the morning, fishing boats set off from the beach for deep-sea fishing. Yesterday we were in Tembe Elephant Park. We were lucky and saw many animals. In this park near the border with Mozambique, there are the largest elephants in South Africa. One was very close to us. We had to be very, very careful!!!! In the evening, we enjoyed fresh fish caught by our landlord. We had white edged rockcod. See photo! Today we are preparing for our onward journey to Cape Vidal. So much is soooo different here. The road conditions, how differently people live here, the climate, the many different languages, ethnic groups, shopping, food, mentality, etc...... Yes, I would say everything is very interesting, exciting, enriching, but also exhausting.
