Great Ocean Road

Hello everyone!

After a little break, here's an update! We were on the Great Ocean Road...


What is the Great Ocean Road?

A 243 km beautiful road along the southern coast of Australia between Torquay and Allansford. One of the most famous scenic routes for tourists in Australia...of course we did it!

When were we there?

30.11. - 05.12.

What did we see?

Koalas!


They just hang out and sleep in the eucalyptus trees along the road.

Incredibly beautiful sandstone formations shaped by the sea over centuries.

What was really special?

When the sea meets the river...

Our rental car:
a Holden Commodore Limousine. The guy from the rental car company meant well, but so many sensors, lights, and 'assistance features' really drove us crazy. Not ideal when the car honks when locking it at night on the campsite.

The Campermate app:

Shows free camping sites, showers (some even hot and free!!), fresh water, barbecue areas, sights, etc. For free, what a great tip... We had many rainy days and really benefited from it!!
