The 8th Day

Today is a day completely without motorcycles. Our 5th rider takes us to an observation tower in Kuopio after breakfast, adjacent to the ski jumping hill where summer training was taking place. From the tower, we had a magnificent view of the city and the lake district. Then we went to the city center and enjoyed Finnish specialties in the market square.

After a relaxation break back in Kari's garden, we set off on a boat tour of the lake district. The incredible number of islands, each with a house on almost every one, was an impressive experience.

The evening is now rounded off with dinner at the best Italian restaurant in the port of Kuopio. Tomorrow we have a program of nearly 700 km to Lapland.
