Blog 16 / Southern Carretera Austral bis / to General Carrera Lake

Now we are enjoying the Southern Carretera Austral with beautiful landscapes, especially the Valle Ibanez and the drive down there. We visit the 'Wall of Hands' during a nice walk, the handprints that are up to 3000 years old are completely unprotected...

We particularly like the view of Cerro Castillo with its glaciers.

Shortly after, the 20 km long paved section of the Carretera Austral ends and the next 40 km are a construction site - traffic is blocked for up to half an hour, then there is convoy traffic.

But the great goal is calling - General Carrera Lake...
