Frutillar is like some other places in this region that was founded by immigrants from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The Historio Aleman museum is nice to visit, a look back at the so-called 'Good Old Times'. The Hotel Salzburg is praised in the travel guide and also has its own brewery.
Frutillar is located on the shore of Lake Llanquihue with a wonderful view of the Osorno Volcano.
We drive along the lake towards Argentina - shortly before the border we take a walk to the Salto de Indio - not a circus show but a waterfall.
