The almost 300 km long 'Icefields Parkway' leads through the two national parks from Banff to Jasper. There are plenty of mountains, glaciers, lakes and spectacular scenery to admire along the route.
Highlights are definitely Bow Lake and the Columbia Icefield with the Athabasca Glacier and the Skywalk. You can get up to the glacier for a walk by using the special buses. The Skywalk isn't for those afraid of heights - it descends about 300m into the gorge under the glass panels that form the floor. Of course, we had to try both and also had time for a hike to Silverton Creek.
