Two weeks in Sapporo

Published: 27.03.2018

We stayed with the Koch family, missionaries from Germany, in Sapporo for two weeks. The first few days, Daniela and I looked after the children of the Kochs' friends, which was a very fun experience for us 😂.

Our goal in Sapporo was to be able to tell people about Jesus on the streets. Initially, this was difficult, especially when no one was able to speak Japanese. Therefore, we got flyers from JP with the following content: God loves you - You are a sinner - Jesus died for you on the cross - How do you deal with that? Even though many people did not understand us language-wise, we were able to communicate our message through the flyers. We were able to pray for some people, like a taxi driver who complained about back pain. During and after the prayer, he felt a pleasant warmth in his back 🙏.

We also spent a few days in Sapporo's ski resorts, where we were able to talk about Jesus as well. It is truly impressive how many encounters God provides when we let ourselves be guided by the Holy Spirit 😁

During our time in Sapporo, we also had many exciting moments... ordering food without knowing exactly what we would get, a Japanese Crossfit session, a visit to the 100 Yen shop, and a ski tour on an active volcano.

Sapporo was an unforgettable time, and we thank JP and Nora Koch for their amazing hospitality, and God for the many encounters and opportunities He gave us 😁🙌🙏.
