Day 1

Published: 14.02.2022

  1. After landing in Incheon, I directly met some other exchange students from Germany and Switzerland who were also quarantining in the same hotel. Some of us took an 8-seater bus to the city.
The journey between the airport and the hotel was relatively long, about 40 minutes, but interesting. With the rising sea level, the airport and the area will surely have a problem soon...
Here you can see many KIA's, Toyota's, and Genesis's cars. They all have a luxurious and elegant look and are definitely very similar to German cars in appearance. The trend towards SUVs is also evident here. Asian manufacturers are slowly entering the European market and are increasingly being perceived by German OEMs. I wonder if, due to the lower price, they will eventually lead to the extinction of German OEMs (as long as the Asians are not yet electric/sustainable, for now nothing, but maybe in the future?) Electric cars would definitely not be wrong here, judging by the smog...
  2. As for the landscape, there are scattered high-rise districts everywhere, which means that there are 20-30 high-rise buildings in one place - real high-rise buildings with 15-20 floors, not like in Germany - and then there is nothing until the next district with high-rise buildings appears. Since many of the high-rise buildings are under construction, I wonder where the people and the needed capital come from. It also reminds me a little of Evergrande :D
  3. I went directly to the room in the quarantine hotel, where I can't complain. With enough space and a great view, it is easy to endure here for 7 days.
