Day 3: Zoo Aurora and District

Today we visited the zoo in the city. It is located right next to the airport in the middle of downtown. It opened in 1924 and is home to over 2500 species of animals. In 2016, a center for breeding endangered reptile species was even completed.

In the afternoon, we then drove to the upscale neighborhood of Ciudad Calaya, also known as the 'white city'. This is where the 'rich and beautiful' live, and the rental or purchase prices of properties can compete easily with our European cities. Here, one feels as if in another world, incomparable to the downtown area. This district is considered the safest in the city.

In the late afternoon, we returned to the airport, where we then flew back to San Jose at 20:15. By the way, we paid over 124 Euros for our parking ticket at the airport from Tuesday afternoon to Friday night!!!
