Tag 82: Going home at breakneck speed

It's incredible how quickly time passed. We're making our final trip in Shanghai: We're riding the Maglev, the magnetic levitation train, at over 300 km/h to the airport. The Transrapid is a bit older now and we missed the fast ride at 430 km/h by 15 minutes, but we're still thrilled at how quickly we're covering the long distance to Pudong Airport. From here, we'll fly to Frankfurt on an A380. I'm looking forward to an apple spritzer and pretzels on board. We're going home.

Our journey in numbers:

We flew 45,000 km,

drove 11,000 km by car,

rode 155 km by bike,

hiked 109 km in nature.

We spent 1,968 hours together 😘 and collected countless impressions. We froze in the camper in the snow and rain, sunbathed on the whitest beaches in the world, climbed through rainforests on the island, smelled how hell smells, discovered that there are cassowaries, rode the most beautiful trails in the world, one of us jumped into glacier water, swam with giant tortoises, and experienced the beauty of the world.

An extraordinary journey comes to an end.
