It was really bad weather when we started from Franz Josef early in the morning. The destination is Queenstown, so we first have to go back to the west coast and then cross the Mount Aspiring National Park and over the Crown Range Road Pass (the highest road in New Zealand) to get to the ski area around Queenstown and Cardrona. And it was pouring rain! It wasn't until we passed Makarora on Lake Wānaka that things got better.
In Cardona I missed the picture of the day because I'm a driver and didn't want a woman. I have no idea why there are countless bras hanging on a fence on the street in Cardrona... I thought it was funny. Not a fake... click here for the Wikipedia entry on this globally unique New Zealand attraction.
Queenstown is a very beautiful city and for the first time I saw that everything wasn't deserted at 6 p.m. The city center was busy, lots of full pubs, restaurants and bars, lots of people on the lakeshore, the promenade and the small harbor. Plus the unique backdrop with lake and mountains. Queenstown is a hub of adventure tourism and extreme sports. Skiing, jet boating, mountain biking and hiking are the main activities that can be enjoyed. According to our impressions, what is certain today is that in our ranking of New Zealand cities, Queenstown clearly leads ahead of Auckland, Rotorua and Wellington.
Tomorrow we're going to Fiordland National Park and we're looking for glowworms, it'll definitely be really exciting for the PIDISIS 😎😂.
Windshield wiper instead of indicator counter: 97...the 100 is approaching, child predicted it!
