Day 6 - Roadtrip to Santa Barbara

First of all, the few miles from LA to Santa Barbara are not an American road trip, at best a better Sunday outing, well a little more. From experience, I'm glad I don't have to drive long distances alone.

Plus, you want to stop in Malibu and other beaches. At the end of the day, a beach is still a beach. The special thing here is that there is an ocean breeze.

Then finally on the Highway No. 1, driving along the coast with the windows open and loud rock music playing, letting the Pacific air blow around your ears, pretty unique. Only the giant coke with ice was missing, which I as a European can just about do without ;)

The people in Santa Barbara are very nice and relaxed. Unfortunately, I'm only staying here for two nights (my wallet is happy). The legendary Channel Island National Park will probably be denied to me :( unless I set all my efforts to reschedule in motion.. we'll see.

There are some nice trails here and maybe I have already arrived in American style - I started a conversation with a roommate about the trail and we spontaneously arranged to go on a sunset tour together.
