The last country of the tour has been conquered: Denmark! And so we are moving steadily towards home and towards the end of our wonderful journey. The last stop in Sweden turned out to be very beautiful, despite a mediocre first impression. During our journey to the capital of Denmark, another highlight of our road trip occurred. The connection between Malmö and Copenhagen actually took us under the Baltic Sea, after completing the circumnavigation. However, both the campsite and the bridge were a big financial burden. The campsite by the sea, near Copenhagen, even topped it off. We suspect that the last 4 days were more expensive than the entire time in Scandinavia. Today, we visited the beautiful Copenhagen, although it felt more like late autumn than midsummer with rain and icy temperatures! The self-proclaimed 'Free State Christiania' in the middle of the capital fascinated us the most. It is an alternative commune tolerated by the government, with its own rules. One of the six rules is: 'No bulletproof clothing'. The extremely strong wind in the last two quarters made it extremely difficult for us to set up our tent and especially to play cards. Now, for the first time, we are enjoying the Olympic Games in the well-heated television room of the campsite. Tomorrow, we will start the final sprint and complete the circumnavigation of the Baltic Sea.
We have one more note to make. We have planned to arrive in Hennef on Monday and we are excited for anyone who wants to celebrate with us in the Sperl in the evening, hopefully to celebrate the successful completion of the tour.
