After a long, calm flight, we finally landed in Los Angeles. Compared to last time, the immigration process was easier and faster, as we can now scan our passport and fingerprints ourselves at a machine, and answer the usual questions. My favorite line from the instructing lady: 'One machine for each household! One machine for one household!' After that, only the passport is checked, and the inevitable question about the reason for entry is asked. Our suitcases were, of course, almost the last ones on the baggage carousel. The shuttle bus to our car rental was chaotic. We simply couldn't get on any bus because we were always standing at the wrong door. We caught the 5th or 6th bus in the end. Ultimately, we chose an SUV from the Choiceline: a beautiful big Dodge. A true American car! After an odyssey to almost all the Walmarts in Los Angeles, we finally arrived at the hotel. We quickly ate something, showered, and then fell asleep exhausted at around 7 PM local time.
