Day 2
He began with a hike of 10.7 km to Petersberg Castle near Silz. To avoid scaring the kids, Mr. Bahn and I chose a route with no significant elevation changes. It went along many small fields (including a bio lesson on plant species... grin) to the castle chapel. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take the forest path to the castle... risk of rockfall. Okay, then around the outside, up the castle road. What we didn’t know was that the residential buildings below the castle belong to the convent sisters, 50 in total, and the castle itself is in the hands of the order... 30 monastery brothers. A beautiful, well-preserved castle. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to visit it, only to look at it from the outside.
On the way back, we had our lunch package in one of the meadows and then returned to our village.
In the afternoon, we went canyoning... it was the same tour as six years ago. What I mean is, it was exciting to see how some had outgrown themselves, whether it was with the courage to rappel down or with the jump into the depths with the icy water. It was adrenaline pure again.
