Our first real day in Paraguay started unexpectedly earlier than hoped. Probably due to a little jetlag. After a small breakfast, the expedition started right away: we were introduced to the whole city and everyone was so excited to see us! We were treated like celebrities! We could easily get used to that. After a little negotiation with Ganesha, Archana also dared to try Carne for lunch. And she liked it! As did all of us. However, Carne's karma didn't take long to show itself, as her bike lock broke while chaining the bike. When the neighbor's dog attacked us, we were very grateful for our bikes. And grateful that our dog is on a leash. All in all, the culture shock seems to last a while: Shock No. 1: the indigenous population lives in their own settlements and has a dedicated ward in the hospital. Shock No. 2: the city of filadelfia was founded in the bush less than 100 years ago! Shock No. 3: every indigenous family speaks a completely different language and their cultures are so different that they cannot understand each other.
